Frequent Directories

Aster locally records directories visited in the terminal and ranks up to 100 by frequency and recency for quick opening and jump. Visits in the last hour have the highest weight. Queries favor an exact directory name, then name prefix, name substring, and full path.

Settings → Shell → Frequent Directories → Automatically Record Visited Directories is on by default. Turning it off stops new OSC 7 directory changes from entering the ranking. Ignored directories do not return after another cd; remove them from the ignore list first. This data stays on the machine without uploading or automatic synchronization.
